Rain Postpones PhilliesGiants Game With Thursday Split Doubleheader

The late weather call follows an earlier start-time move that could not beat the storm.

Overview

  • The Phillies announced Wednesday the Giants game at Citizens Bank Park was postponed for rain, with makeup games Thursday at 12:35 p.m. ET and 5:35 p.m. ET.
  • Teams had tried to dodge the forecast by moving first pitch up 30 minutes to 6:10 p.m. ET earlier Wednesday, but conditions worsened.
  • Tickets from the postponed game will be accepted for the evening makeup, including seats bought on SeatGeek, with Game 1 gates at 11:35 a.m. and evening entry planned for 4:35 p.m.
  • It is a split doubleheader with separate tickets for each game, and MLB rules allow each club to add one extra player for the day.
  • The Phillies also postponed Thursday’s Independence Blue Cross Senior Stroll the Bases event and will set a new date.
