Overview

• Palakkad division has deployed RPF and GRP teams with sniffer dogs and reinforced CCTV, with intensified ticket checks at Palakkad, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Mangaluru Central.
• Bhopal Division’s RPF seized firecrackers worth over ₹1 lakh and two domestic gas cylinders during Oct. 8–11 checks on trains and platforms.
• Railways cite Sections 67, 164 and 165 of the Railways Act, 1989, with penalties up to three years’ imprisonment, a fine up to ₹1,000, and liability for consequential loss.
• Khurda Road Division has launched a special drive featuring heightened inspections of stations, parcel offices and platforms, awareness announcements, and thorough scanning of luggage and consignments.
