Overview
- Indian Railways announced augmentation across the network with 37 trains, 116 additional coaches and 114 augmented trips to absorb displaced air travel demand.
- Eastern Railway is running Howrah–New Delhi specials (03009/03010 and 04459/04460) through 7–8 December and a Sealdah–Lokmanya Tilak pair (03127 departed 7 December; 03128 departs 9 December).
- South Eastern Railway scheduled three services including Santragachi–Yelahanka specials (08073 on 7 December and 08074 on 9 December), a Howrah–CSMT Mumbai special (02870 on 7 December) and a Cherlapalli–Shalimar run (07148 on 7 December).
- Western Railway introduced a Mumbai Central–New Delhi superfast special with Train 04004 leaving New Delhi on 7 December at 10:40 pm and Train 04003 departing Mumbai Central on 8 December at 11:30 pm, with bookings open via PRS counters and the IRCTC website.
- Western Railway is also adding coaches to regular services and operating Sabarmati–Delhi specials on 7 and 9 December, as thousands of passengers face long queues and delays during the ongoing IndiGo disruptions.
