Railways Begin Phased Shift From UTS to RailOne, Disable Pass Booking on Old App

No formal shutdown date exists, with RailOne now handling new season passes plus a temporary discount for unreserved bookings.

Overview

  • Indian Railways has permanently stopped issuance and renewal of season tickets on the UTS app, which now prompts users to move to RailOne.
  • Existing UTS season passes remain valid on their linked devices, with a Transfer Ticket option enabling pass migration to RailOne and wallet balances moving automatically on login.
  • Railway officials say journey tickets can still be booked on UTS for now as functions are phased over to RailOne.
  • RailOne unifies reserved and unreserved ticketing with features such as live train tracking, PNR status, e‑catering and grievance redressal, plus registration secured by an M‑PIN.
  • A 3% discount on unreserved tickets via RailOne using digital payments will run from January 14 to July 14, and officials say no written Railway Board directive has set a full UTS shutdown date.
