Overview

  • Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof entered six consecutive weekend work blocks from 22 August to 28 September, with platforms 14/15 and 16/17 closed, some long‑distance trains shifting to Frankfurt‑Süd or Frankfurt‑West, and HLB lines RB 37 and RB 40/41 unable to serve the main station.
  • Munich’s S‑Bahn Stammstrecke will be heavily curtailed from Friday, 29 August, 22:30 to Monday, 1 September, 04:40, with only the S7 and S8 running normally during overhead line and 2nd Stammstrecke works.
  • Additional Munich measures are imminent, including MVG bus diversions during road closures in Unterföhring and Lindwurmstraße from 22 to 25 August and short, staged underpass closures on 26 August to install temporary pedestrian and cycle bridges at Pasing.
  • Bochum Hauptbahnhof will lose all long‑distance service between 5 September, 21:00 and 31 October, 21:00 during extensive works tied to the RRX expansion, with wide regional timetable changes and rail‑replacement buses.
  • The Hamburg–Berlin line remains fully closed for a generational rebuild from 1 August 2025 to 30 April 2026, with trains rerouted and longer journey times on the corridor.
