Raiders Waive DT Leki Fotu, Elevate DE Jahfari Harvey

Head coach Pete Carroll said the move was not made to free snaps for rookie defensive tackles.

Overview

  • Las Vegas officially waived Leki Fotu on Dec. 16, a transaction reflected on the league report and announced by the team.
  • Carroll declined to give specifics on the decision and stated it was not driven by a desire to play rookies J.J. Pegues or Tonka Hemingway.
  • The Raiders filled the open roster spot by promoting defensive end Jahfari Harvey to the active roster and added guard McClendon Curtis to the practice squad.
  • Fotu, 27, appeared in six games for Las Vegas with four starts, recording eight tackles and one sack, and he had not been active since Nov. 30.
  • At 2-12 with three games remaining, Las Vegas continues late-season roster evaluations as Fotu awaits a potential claim, practice-squad opportunity, or offseason options.
