Raiders Hit Bye at 2-5 After 31-0 Chiefs Rout as Crosby Injury Deemed Precautionary

Carroll expects the bye to speed the return of injured leaders.

Overview

  • Las Vegas fell 31-0 at Kansas City, managing 95 yards, three first downs and 30 plays with an 0-for-7 mark on third down.
  • Geno Smith was replaced late by Kenny Pickett, whose first snap resulted in a turnover, after throwing for 67 yards; both QBs failed to spark the offense.
  • Maxx Crosby exited in the second quarter with knee and back issues, and NFL Media reports his removal was largely precautionary with expectations he will be OK.
  • Additional injuries included DT Adam Butler (back spasms) and S Isaiah Pola-Mao (ankle), with TE Brock Bowers and WR Jakobi Meyers already out.
  • Pete Carroll said he is "surprised" by the lack of progress and will use the Week 8 bye for a self-scout, with Jacksonville visiting Nov. 2.
