Rahul Gandhi Unveils 'H Files,' Alleging 25 Lakh Fake Voters in Haryana — Election Commission Denies

The dispute over voter rolls intensifies on the eve of Bihar’s first-phase polling.

Overview

  • At a Delhi press conference, Gandhi said Congress’s “H Files” found 25,41,144 suspect entries in Haryana’s 2024 rolls, citing 5.21 lakh duplicates, 93,174 invalid addresses and 19.26 lakh bulk voters.
  • He presented examples including one photograph appearing 223 times and a woman he said is a Brazilian model whose image was used to cast 22 votes across 10 booths.
  • The Election Commission called the charges incorrect and baseless, said no appeals were filed against Haryana rolls, and reiterated that public online deletions cannot be done.
  • BJP leaders, including Union minister Kiren Rijiju, dismissed the presentation as fake and political, urging Congress to take any evidence to the poll body or the courts.
  • Gandhi warned the alleged method would be used in Bihar as opposition parties challenge the Special Intensive Revision process and TMC rallies in Kolkata, with Bihar’s first phase voting on November 6.
