Rahm, DeChambeau and Smith Say They’ll Stay With LIV as Koepka Returns to PGA Tour

LIV leaders publicly commit to stay despite a one-time PGA Tour pathway that imposes steep penalties with a Feb. 2 deadline.

Overview

  • The PGA Tour’s Returning Member Program offers a limited, one-time path back for select recent major or Players champions who left for LIV, with decisions due by Feb. 2.
  • Brooks Koepka has been reinstated under the program and is slated to play the Farmers Insurance Open on Jan. 29 before the Phoenix Open.
  • Return terms include a $5 million charitable payment, five years without access to the Player Equity Program, and no eligibility for the 2026 FedExCup bonus, with initial restrictions on Signature Events.
  • At LIV’s captains’ media day, Jon Rahm said he is not planning to go anywhere and Bryson DeChambeau noted he is contracted through 2026.
  • DeChambeau also posted an Instagram story asking fans “What should I do?” while Cameron Smith said he will remain on LIV for years to come.
