Overview
- The quarterfinal is scheduled for Friday, October 16 at 08:30 Spanish time on the Qi Zhong central court in Shanghai.
- Jódar reached the last eight after a third straight comeback in Shanghai, beating Botic van de Zandschulp 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2 in a 2.5-hour match.
- Ruud advanced with far less court time when Felix Auger-Aliassime retired with a left-knee problem in their round-of-16 match, and this will be Ruud’s 17th Masters 1000 quarterfinal.
- The two have never met on the pro tour and Ruud has praised Jódar as a fearless baseliner who hits with heavy pace.
- Spanish viewers can watch on Movistar Plus+ but should check whether the match is included in the platform’s Plan Libre selection, and a Jódar win would carry big ranking points because Masters 1000 events strongly affect year-end standings.
