RAF Hawk T2 Crashes and Explodes Near RAF Valley

Overview

• A Hawk T2 training jet from RAF Valley caught fire shortly after takeoff and crashed in or near Pencarnisiog, producing a large explosion and a heavy fireball.
• Both pilots ejected before the aircraft hit the ground and were treated for light injuries by emergency and military medical teams.
