Raducanu Withdraws From December U.S. Exhibitions With Minor Foot Bruise

She pivots to a Barcelona preseason block under coach Francisco Roig with a new physiotherapist.

Overview

  • Emma Raducanu pulled out of exhibition matches in Newark and Miami on 7–8 December because of light bone bruising in her right foot.
  • She remains able to practise and plans to complete a preseason training camp in Barcelona overseen by Francisco Roig.
  • Promoters said world No. 6 Jessica Pegula will replace Raducanu in the two U.S. exhibition events.
  • Raducanu added physiotherapist Emma Stewart, formerly with the WTA Tour and British Rowing, who will lead her strength and conditioning program.
  • She is slated to represent Great Britain at the United Cup in early January and, at world No. 29, is in line for Australian Open seeding after a season with 28 tour-level wins.
