Raducanu, who recently returned from wrist and ankle surgeries, showed promising performance in the first two sets, but seemed to tire in the third.
Despite the loss, Raducanu expressed pride in her high level of play, particularly against a challenging opponent like Svitolina.
Svitolina, the second seed, will advance to the Auckland quarter-final where she will play against Marie Bouzkova.
Raducanu's next competition will be the Australian Open, which begins on January 14.
