Radhabinod Sharma Appointed as Mira Bhayandar's 12th Commissioner in 14 Years

Radhabinod Sharma, a 2012 batch IAS officer, has been named the new commissioner of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), replacing Sanjay Katkar.
Sharma brings extensive administrative experience, having held roles such as joint metropolitan commissioner of MMRDA and collector of Beed district.
The MBMC has seen 12 commissioners in just 14 years, with most unable to complete their terms due to abrupt transfers and political pressures.
Outgoing commissioner Sanjay Katkar served for 19 months before being reassigned while on official training.
Sharma's appointment is part of broader administrative reshuffling by the Maharashtra government, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking to limit the influence of promotee IAS officers in satellite towns.
