Overview

  • The outage began around 20:20 on June 28 when a fault in ENAV’s E-Net data network disrupted transmissions at the Milan FIR radar control center.
  • At 20:40 a ‘rateo zero’ order halted all departures and arrivals across Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria airports.
  • A Notam bulletin has grounded flights until at least 23:00, though repair time may vary based on the fault’s complexity.
  • More than 322 flights have been affected so far, with average delays of 163 minutes and ongoing diversions to nearby airports.
  • Eurocontrol has instructed adjacent airfields to accommodate diverted traffic as technicians work on restoring radar operations.
