Rackley W.A.R. to End Truck Series Program After Talladega Race

Co-owners said the team will refocus on its late model driver development program after leaving the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Overview

  • The team announced on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, that the Love’s RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway will be Rackley W.A.R.’s final Truck Series start.
  • Rackley W.A.R. competed in the Truck Series from 2021–2026, recording 146 combined starts, 27 top-10s, six top-fives and a single race win at Talladega in October 2022.
  • Dawson Sutton will pilot the No. 26 in the team’s final race and is confirmed to move to TRICON Garage as a full-time driver in 2027.
  • The team’s part-time No. 27 entry will not run the season’s last two events, leaving part-time drivers who used it this year without a Rackley Truck ride.
  • Owners Curtis Sutton and Willie Allen said the shutdown is a reallocation of focus toward a late model program that has nearly 50 wins and emphasizes developing young drivers, and the Truck Series loses a full-time outfit that had run every year since 2021.
