Overview

• The longtime Crown Heights rabbi and elder Chossid died on Shabbos morning, Oct. 11 (19 Tishri 5786), at age 97.
• A Motzei Shabbos levaya set for 11 p.m. proceeded past 770 Eastern Parkway before driving up Kingston Avenue to Getzel’s Shul.
• Plotkin was the first Chabad shliach to Bardichev and served for years as Rov of Getzel’s Shul, where he recited a maamer by heart each Shabbos.
• The procession stopped at the synagogue he led, honoring his decades of service to the Crown Heights community.
• He is survived by Rebbetzin Devorah Plotkin and children living in Toronto, San Francisco, Rochester, Crown Heights, Brooklyn Heights, and Hollywood, Florida.
