Overview
- The PowerBall draw is scheduled for 21:00 on Friday with ticket sales closing at 20:30, so players must buy entries before the 8:30pm cutoff.
- Anyone aged 18 or older can play by choosing five numbers from 1–50 plus a PowerBall from 1–16 or by using Quick Pick; a single board costs R10.
- PowerBall XTRA is a separate supplementary draw with an estimated R18 million jackpot and requires an extra fee to enter the same board into that draw.
- A pre-draw results page posted before the draw showed placeholder zeros and The South African will publish numbers after 21:00, but the National Lottery website is the authoritative source for verification.
- The current R61 million prize is the result of repeated rollovers and for context the largest South African PowerBall win remains R232,131,750.90 from February 19, 2019.
