Overview
- Service halts start this week in a first phase between Montcada Bifurcació and La Garriga until around May 2026, followed by a reduced closure between Mollet Santa Rosa and La Garriga through January 2027.
- Renfe plans about 60 buses and roughly 630 daily departures operated by Sagalés, Izaro and Monbus, with Centelles as the main rail-to-bus interchange and Barcelona’s Fabra i Puig as the central hub.
- Direct buses from Fabra i Puig will run to La Garriga hourly, to Centelles every 30 minutes and to Vic every 15 minutes at peak, complementing all‑stops services along the affected corridor.
- Approximately 21,000 daily users are expected to shift to road transport, with Renfe estimating average journeys will take 20 to 30 minutes longer.
- Renfe has deployed about 90 trained information staff and conducted driver “white runs” to avoid early‑day routing errors, as Adif funds the rail works and Renfe budgets €56 million for substitute transport after revising a contested summer plan.
