Overview
- The 17-km duplication project between Parets del Vallès and La Garriga starts 7 October and is scheduled to run until May 2026.
- R3 trains will operate only from La Garriga toward Puigcerdà/La Tor de Querol, with no R3 service between L'Hospitalet and La Garriga; R4 and Metro cover L'Hospitalet–Montcada, and stations such as Montcada Ripollet, Mollet Santa Rosa, Parets, Granollers–Canovelles and Les Franqueses lose through service.
- Replacement buses will run from Barcelona Fabra i Puig to Vic every 15 minutes, to La Garriga every 60 minutes, and as a stopping service to Centelles every 30 minutes, with operating hubs at Fabra i Puig and Centelles and Granollers–Canovelles reinforced as a key interchange.
- Renfe estimates an extra 20–30 minutes for about 21,000 daily users and will deploy 58 buses providing 43,500 seats, publish detailed timetables, run test circulations, station 90 staff to guide passengers and keep nine standby buses along the C-17 corridor.
- From 7 October the La Garriga–Montornès bus corridor splits into two 30‑minute lines and a new Vallromanes–Montmeló route launches every 30 minutes, with the Generalitat committing resources including a €17 million program to bolster interurban services.
