Quintana Roo Security Forces Arrest Alleged CJNG Plaza Boss in Cancún

An interagency sweep with Navy and Army units yielded evidence now under review by the specialized narcomenudeo prosecutor.

Overview

  • Authorities detained Emiliano (Emilio) Alejandro “N,” alias “Danone” or “H,” identified as a presumed CJNG regional operator during a Dec. 5 operation in Cancún.
  • Investigators say he oversaw the cell known as Deltas: Operativa Jaguar, which sought to expand control across multiple northern Quintana Roo municipalities.
  • Officers seized 64 baggies of marijuana, 23 with crystalline fragments resembling meth, 19 with powder resembling cocaine, a 9 mm Glock with 12 rounds, 300,000 pesos, four phones, and a Kia Soul.
  • The arrest followed officers spotting two men exchanging plastic bags from a car trunk on Avenida José López Portillo; one suspect fled while the other was captured.
  • The detainee was turned over to the state narcomenudeo prosecutor, and the cash and other evidence were consigned for investigations into possible illicit origins and pending charges.
