Quincy Promes Sentenced to Six Years for Drug Trafficking

The former Netherlands international was convicted in absentia by a Dutch court for his involvement in smuggling over a ton of cocaine.

The court found Promes guilty of smuggling 1,350kg of cocaine into Belgium's Antwerp port in 2020.
Prosecutors initially sought a nine-year sentence, but the court settled on six years.
This is not Promes' first legal issue; he was previously sentenced in absentia to 18 months for stabbing his cousin.
Promes has played 21 times for Spartak this season, scoring eight goals and assisting the same amount.
