Quincy Man Arraigned, Held in Alleged Route 128 Highway Shooting

Prosecutors describe a rest-stop dispute that escalated into gunfire during a late-night pursuit.

Thomas Drequan Perkins, 26, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Salem District Court.
Authorities say an argument at the Beverly Service Plaza around 11:30 p.m. Monday led to a pursuit onto Route 128 and shots fired at a car carrying two people.
No injuries were reported, and Massachusetts State Police and Beverly police are investigating.
Perkins faces two counts of attempted murder with a firearm along with charges including carrying a firearm without a license (second offense), discharging a firearm near a highway, and a subsequent offense for possessing ammunition without an FID card.
He was ordered held without bail pending a Dec. 18 dangerousness hearing, and the judge imposed a no-contact order with the occupants of the other vehicle.
