Quinbrook Awards GE Vernova Stage 3 Contract as Supernode Secures GPS Acceptance

The deal brings grid‑forming controls and CATL battery systems to a Queensland campus poised to deliver frequency support and system strength for the National Electricity Market.

Overview

  • Quinbrook selected GE Vernova in August 2026 to supply power conversion, plant controls and system integration for Stage 3, giving GE Vernova technology coverage across all three Supernode stages and supporting Stage 3’s GPS acceptance.
  • Quinbrook closed AU$469 million in debt for Stage 3 in August 2026, taking total project financing across the campus to roughly AU$1.2 billion.
  • CATL will supply its TENER S battery systems and provide long‑term lifecycle services for Stage 3 while EnerC Plus hardware underpins Stages 1–2, preserving platform consistency and easing operations on the site’s constrained land.
  • Stage 2 is already in commercial operation, and Stage 3 will add 260 MW and 1,216 MWh of four‑hour storage to bring the single‑site Supernode campus to about 780 MW and 3,075 MWh.
