  • Police issued the summons on August 20 alleging supply of dangerous drugs and using or disclosing inside knowledge for betting.
  • Smith is expected to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on September 18.
  • Detectives from the Organised Crime Gangs Group’s Taskforce Maxima in the South Eastern Region are continuing inquiries.
  • The player was questioned at Coolangatta airport earlier this month, cooperated with officers, and was released without charge at that time.
  • The NRL Integrity Unit has been notified, and both South Sydney and the league have declined to comment so far.
