Queensland Man Charged with Murder, Torture, and Kidnapping After Fatal Assault

Police allege a coordinated attack in Richlands left one man dead and two others seriously injured, with possible links to organized crime.

A 31-year-old Birkdale man has been charged with murder, torture, kidnapping, armed robbery, and grievous bodily harm following a violent incident in Richlands, Queensland.
The attack allegedly involved three victims who were kidnapped, assaulted over several hours, and later returned to their vehicle; one of the men, aged 52, died in hospital two days later from severe head injuries.
The two surviving victims sustained serious injuries, including a broken leg and significant facial trauma, and are being treated with care due to the violent nature of the incident.
Police believe the attack was premeditated and possibly linked to organized crime, with investigators from Taskforce Maxima, which targets outlaw motorcycle gangs, involved in the case.
Authorities have released images of a silver 2008 XF Jaguar sedan believed to be connected to the incident and are seeking public assistance to locate it as investigations continue.
