Queensland Man Charged Over Mid-Flight Disturbance

A Brisbane-Perth flight was turned back after a passenger allegedly caused safety concerns by aggressive and disorderly behavior.

A 38-year-old Cairns man was charged for allegedly causing a disturbance on a Brisbane to Perth flight on December 10, 2024.
Police allege the man was intoxicated, acted aggressively toward passengers, and touched others without consent.
The man reportedly banged on the walls of the airplane toilet twice, prompting the captain to return the flight to Brisbane as a safety measure.
He has been charged with one count of offensive and disorderly behavior, which carries a maximum fine of $8,065.
The accused is set to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today to face the charges.
