• Authorities identified the victim as 44-year-old Isabel Alvarez, who was directing traffic at a state project near the Nassau and Van Wyck expressways in South Ozone Park.
• Police say a 2018 Infiniti Q50 struck Alvarez while she stood in a designated safety zone between an exit ramp and the eastbound Nassau Expressway lanes just before 7:30 a.m. Friday.
• The driver allegedly fled the scene and was later found at South Conduit Avenue and 134th Street, taken to Jamaica Hospital for treatment, and placed in custody.
