• On Aug. 12 at about 7:44 p.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in an Ozone Park home during an apparent struggle over a firearm and was pronounced dead at the scene.
• A man has been detained for questioning in connection with the Ozone Park shooting and remains in custody as police weigh charges.
• Just over an hour later on Beach 115th St. in Rockaway Park, 37-year-old Brandon Williams was stabbed in the chest and left wrist and later died at Jamaica Hospital.
• No arrest or suspect description has been released in the Rockaway Park case and detectives are canvassing surveillance footage while urging the public to submit tips to Crime Stoppers.
