Queens Liquor Store Owner and Robbers Arrested After Violent Struggle

A botched robbery at Franja Wines and Liquors led to a shooting, resulting in charges for the store owner and two suspects.

The incident occurred Monday night when two men attempted to steal items from Franja Wines and Liquors in Ridgewood.
The suspects, Kevin Pullutasi and Edwin Poaquiza, returned to assault the store owner, Francisco Valerio, after being asked to leave.
During the altercation, Valerio's gun discharged, wounding Pullutasi in the stomach.
Pullutasi was hospitalized in stable condition; Poaquiza was apprehended nearby.
All three individuals face multiple charges, including robbery and reckless endangerment.
