Overview

  • The shortlisted designs include a bronze Windsor oak tree, a stone lily pad canopy, tranquil royal gardens, a cascading water bridge, and reflective pathways with symbolic themes.
  • The public can view and provide feedback on the proposed designs via an online exhibition managed by Malcolm Reading Consultants.
  • The Queen Elizabeth Memorial Committee, chaired by Lord Janvrin, will select the winning design in early summer 2025 after public input is reviewed.
  • All current statue renderings are illustrative; a sculptor will be appointed later to create a figurative representation of the Queen.
  • The memorial is planned for St James’s Park near Buckingham Palace, with the final design expected to be unveiled in 2026 to mark the late Queen’s centenary.
