Overview
- Queen Camilla, patron of Battersea since 2017, unveiled the permanent Dog Garden on July 14 after its debut at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
- The sensory space, co-created with Jamie Butterworth, features open grass areas, shade-providing trees and stimuli designed to reduce anxiety and aid rescue dog training.
- Bricks along the garden path bear the names of Camilla’s rescue terriers—Beth, Bluebell and Moley—and the King’s Lagotto Romagnolo, Snuff.
- During the opening, the Queen toured the garden with Monty Don, Jamie Butterworth and charity volunteers before unveiling a commemorative plaque and hosting a reception with celebrity ambassadors.
- The charity released new portraits of her puppy Moley and shared Battersea’s summer welfare tips, including guidance on keeping dogs cool in hot weather.
