Overview
- Quebec scored 72.4 out of 100 for happiness, followed by New Brunswick at 70.2, while Prince Edward Island recorded the lowest provincial score
- Among Canada’s 10 largest cities, Mississauga had the highest happiness rating, Toronto ranked last and Montreal placed second
- Forty-nine per cent of respondents said their happiness was unchanged over the past year, 23 per cent said they were happier and 28 per cent said they were less happy
- Canadians aged 18 to 34 were more likely to report improved well-being while those aged 35 to 54 tended to report declines
- Women rated their happiness at an average of 69.4 compared with 68.0 for men
