Quebec Police Watchdog Probes Suspicious Deaths in Montreal

The bodies of a mother and son were found in a vehicle, prompting investigations by both provincial and city police.

The bodies of Lucia Giovanna Arcuri, 76, and her son Giuseppe Arcuri, 59, were discovered in a vehicle in Montreal's St-Léonard borough.
The Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI) is investigating the police's handling of the initial missing persons report.
Montreal police had been searching for the pair since they were reported missing earlier in the week.
First responders attempted to revive the individuals at around 12:30 a.m. but both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sûreté du Québec is tasked with investigating the circumstances and causes of the deaths, which remain classified as suspicious.
