Quantinuum’s Helios to Run Inside Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Oracle says the partnership will let customers run hybrid quantum, AI, high-performance computing workloads on OCI under existing governance.

Overview

  • The companies announced a multi-year partnership on Aug. 11, 2026 that will place Quantinuum’s Helios quantum computer inside a U.S.-based Oracle AI data center and surface it to customers through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Helios will operate within OCI so customers can access the physical trapped-ion machine without buying or operating quantum hardware, using the same networking, identity, storage and governance tools they already use on OCI.
  • Quantinuum’s Helios is a commercially launched trapped-ion system with 98 physical qubits, demonstrations of 48 logical qubits, and an average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921 percent, a metric that reduces errors in longer quantum circuits.
  • Oracle said it will preview a managed OCI quantum service in coming months that will combine Quantinuum’s development stack with open-source hybrid-programming frameworks to let developers build and test quantum-classical applications.
  • The companies did not disclose financial terms or a firm deployment date, leaving short-term revenue impacts unclear, but the move advances a broader cloud strategy to pair quantum processors with GPUs and HPC for enterprise research, drug discovery, logistics and other heavy-compute use cases.
