Overview
- Nestlé confirmed paper, recyclable Quality Street tubs will be back in selected Tesco stores from October.
- The octagonal paper tub features a re-close lid and gold-foil detailing and is designed to go in household recycling.
- Plastic tubs will continue to be sold alongside the paper version, with availability managed by retailers.
- Last year’s Tesco trial distributed more than 200,000 paper tubs carrying roughly 150 tonnes of sweets.
- The standard purple tub has been reduced from 600g to 550g, about 57 chocolates instead of 63, with Nestlé citing higher manufacturing, ingredient and transport costs.
