Qualcomm Sets 2028 Target for Pre-Commercial 6G Devices as Verizon Builds New Industry Forum

The pledge signals a coordinated research phase that precedes broad commercial availability expected near 2030.

Overview

  • At Snapdragon Summit, CEO Cristiano Amon said Qualcomm expects test-bed 6G devices to be ready as early as 2028.
  • Verizon this week formed the 6G Innovation Forum with Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia, Meta and Qualcomm to steer early development.
