• At Snapdragon Summit, CEO Cristiano Amon said Qualcomm expects test-bed 6G devices to be ready as early as 2028.
• Verizon this week formed the 6G Innovation Forum with Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia, Meta and Qualcomm to steer early development.
• Verizon will open dedicated 6G Labs starting in Los Angeles to prototype hardware, run spectrum experiments and begin lab and field trials.
• Forum participants say they will align work with 3GPP to support a harmonized standard and cross-vendor interoperability.
