Qlik and AtScale Join Snowflake’s Open Semantic Interchange to Advance Vendor-Neutral Data Semantics

On January 27, Qlik and AtScale announced they are joining the Open Semantic Interchange, an open-source effort led by Snowflake.
OSI seeks a vendor-neutral specification for semantic metadata so organizations can standardize business definitions across tools and platforms.
Qlik says its participation will help customers apply governed metrics consistently across analytics, AI applications, and data products.
AtScale is contributing over a decade of production semantic-layer experience, including its Semantic Modeling Language, and expertise migrating from SSAS and Cognos for enterprises such as Home Depot and Fidelity.
The initiative is described as community-driven with participants across BI, data governance, data engineering, AI, and multiple industries to improve interoperability and reduce operational complexity.
