Qcells Picks LG Energy Solution Vertech for 5 GWh of U.S.-Made Storage for 2028–30 Projects

The pact centers on U.S.-made LFP storage paired with Georgia-built panels to satisfy domestic-content rules.

Overview

  • LG Energy Solution Vertech and Qcells agreed to a multi-year supply of containerized lithium-ion BESS with lifecycle services for Qcells’ utility-scale portfolio.
  • Deliveries are scheduled for 2028 through 2030 to support projects led by Qcells’ EPC division across the United States.
  • The systems will use LFP cells produced in the United States, with current output up to 16.5 GWh in Holland, Michigan, and a planned ramp to about 50 GWh across North America by the end of 2026.
  • The U.S.-made storage paired with Georgia-made Qcells solar modules is intended to qualify for domestic-content benefits and bolster local manufacturing and supply chains.
  • The agreement builds on 4.8 GWh of BESS purchases announced in May 2024 as Qcells moves to 8.4 GW of U.S. panel capacity with its new Cartersville, Georgia facility.
