Overview
- Qatar is operating three Starlink-connected Boeing 787-8s and is the first airline to secure certification for the type.
- Installations are complete across all Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s, with the A350 program finished in eight months and both fleets done in about 14 months.
- Nearly 120 widebody aircraft now feature the service, covering more than 58% of the long-haul fleet with gate-to-gate access and speeds up to 500 Mbps.
- Since the October 2024 launch, more than 11 million passengers have used Qatar’s free Starlink Wi‑Fi, contributing a large share of the 21 million Starlink users reported across airlines in 2025.
- Equipping the 787 addresses composite-fuselage installation challenges that had slowed the type’s adoption elsewhere.
