Overview
- The PWHL and the PWHL Players Association announced Thursday that they agreed to raise the minimum salary, add one active roster spot per team and abolish the reserve-player designation.
- Minimum pay will rise to $42,000 for the 2026–27 season and then increase in steps to $52,500 by 2030–31, with intermediate rates of $45,000 in 2027–28, $47,500 in 2028–29 and $50,000 in 2029–30.
- Active rosters will grow from 23 to 24 players, and the league said that expansion and the roster increase will create about 104 new spots compared with last season.
- Teams will replace the old $15,000 reserve stipends with one-game standard player agreements for short-term needs, while 10-day contracts remain available for longer temporary coverage.
- Training camps open Nov. 18 and the regular season begins Dec. 5, with roughly 288 players expected under contract this year as the league bets on growth and wider broadcast windows to support higher pay.
