Russian President Vladimir Putin has emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation with China on high-tech defense technologies, such as military satellites and prospective weapons. This move indicates growing defense ties between the two nations and is considered a significant factor in stabilizing international affairs amidst rising Western tensions.
Putin revealed that Russia has been sharing highly sensitive military technologies with China, significantly strengthening China's defense capabilities. These developments include a ballistic missile early warning system, a technology previously possessed only by Russia and the U.S.
Despite growing defense collaborations, Putin maintains that Russia and China are not building any military alliances based on Cold War patterns. However, they are intensifying their strategic partnership through strengthened personal ties between their leaders and joint military exercises.
Russia and China have conducted several joint military exercises, including naval drills and patrols by long-range bombers over the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea. They have also launched ground-forces deployment to each other's territories for joint drills.
