The director says the film world has not mobilized enough for Gaza.

Overview

  • The documentary begins a wide French release on Wednesday, 24 September, reaching about 100 theaters after roughly 120 advance screenings organized by distributor New Story.
  • Directed by Sepideh Farsi, the film centers on video correspondence with Gaza photojournalist Fatma Hassona.
  • Hassona was killed on 16 April 2025 in an Israeli missile strike on her home that also killed six family members, according to reports.
  • Following screenings at Cannes, Venice, Toronto and Busan, releases are planned in about a dozen countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United States, Australia and Japan.
  • Farsi is publicly urging the cinema community to show greater engagement on Gaza as the film reaches a broader audience.
