The series will dramatize the protest group's origins, their groundbreaking political actions, and their continued activism against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The series will cover key events such as the 2012 'Punk Prayer' action, the subsequent conviction and jail sentence of the group's core members, and their protest at the Sochi Olympics following their release.
Tolokonnikova, who has been arrested dozens of times and is on Putin's 'most wanted' list, hopes the series will inspire a new generation of rebels.
Former STX president Sophie Watts, who will executive produce the series, describes Tolokonnikova's life as 'extraordinary' and hopes the series will show how a persevering artistic spirit can change the world.
