Overview
- Indian Railways has confirmed a new Vande Bharat service between Purnia and Patna to be operated and maintained by East Central Railway.
- Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced four Amrit Bharat routes originating from Bihar: Gaya–Delhi, Saharsa–Amritsar, Chhapra–Delhi, Muzaffarpur–Hyderabad.
- The Gaya–Delhi Amrit Bharat Express begins commercial operations on August 28 as trains 13697/13698 with a twice‑weekly frequency.
- Indian Railways detailed the Gaya–Delhi service at 983 km in about 19 hours 30 minutes with 22 coaches (8 sleeper, 11 general, 1 pantry, 2 SLR) and a sleeper fare of Rs 560.
- Nationally, 150 Vande Bharat services are running, the first Vande Bharat Sleeper is targeted next month, and production is planned for 100 additional Amrit Bharat rakes.
