Overview
- From August 7, the service will expand from eight to 16 coaches to accommodate growing ridership
- The revised rake will include 12 AC Chair Cars, two Executive Chair Cars and two Crew Chair Car coaches
- Since its launch, the train has run at over 110 per cent capacity, with northbound occupancy at 112.76 per cent and southbound at 127.64 per cent
- The semi-high-speed service covers 505 km in about 7.5 hours, operating six days a week with stops at nine key Odisha stations
- Officials say the additional coaches will cut waitlists and strengthen regional connectivity, tourism and economic growth
