Puri Inaugurates IGL Corporate Office and Meter Plant as PNG Extends to 250 Delhi Villages

IGL says the new JV facility targets about one million smart-prepaid meters a year, with production expected to begin in October 2025.

  • Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri opened IGL’s new corporate office at the World Trade Centre in Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi.
  • Puri also inaugurated IGL’s JV meter-manufacturing plant, which the company says is designed for roughly one million meters annually, including smart and prepaid models.
  • Gas supply was inaugurated in 31 additional villages within IGL-authorised areas, taking piped natural gas coverage to 250 villages serving over 100,000 rural households.
  • IGL unveiled a refreshed CNG station design and launched the ‘IGL CX 2.0’ customer experience initiative focused on digital tools and service upgrades.
  • Puri cited nationwide gains since 2014, including LPG connections rising to more than 33 crore and the natural gas pipeline network expanding to over 22,500 km.
