Zach Edey Leads Purdue to Victory, Ending Five-Game Losing Streak Against Xavier

Purdue Boilermakers, led by All-American center Zach Edey, defeated the Xavier Musketeers 83-71 in the Gavitt Tipoff Games series.
Edey scored 28 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked four shots, overcoming a slow start where he missed his first four shots.
Purdue's victory ended a five-game losing streak against Xavier, dating back to December 2001, and marked their 27th consecutive win against a non-Big Ten opponent.
Purdue also celebrated its 23rd straight win at Mackey Arena against a nonconference opponent.
Purdue will face 11th-ranked Gonzaga on November 20 in the opener of the relocated Maui Classic in Honolulu.
