• Bhalla was admitted to Fortis Mohali on August 20 in critical condition and was managed on ventilator and cardio‑supportive drugs before he died early on August 22.
• Last rites are scheduled for August 23 at 12 pm at the Balongi cremation ground in Mohali, with a large turnout from fans and the film fraternity expected.
• Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Bhalla’s Mohali residence to offer condolences as tributes poured in from Gippy Grewal, Diljit Dosanjh, Akshay Kumar and other public figures.
• A defining voice in Punjabi comedy, he rose to fame with the Chhankata series and became widely known for roles including Advocate Dhillon in the Carry On Jatta films and parts in Jatt & Juliet.
• Beyond cinema, he held a PhD in Extension Education and retired in 2020 as professor and head of department at Punjab Agricultural University, blending entertainment with social messaging.
