Punjab Students Shadow Bureaucrats in 'Ek Din, DC/SSP De Sang' Initiative

Overview

  • On May 26, top Class 10 and 12 students from Punjab’s government schools spent a day alongside IAS and IPS officers under the ‘Ek Din, DC/SSP De Sang’ initiative.
  • Deputy Commissioners and senior police officials in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala led guided tours of district offices, SDM courts, sub-registrar and public service centres.
  • Officers such as Amritsar DC Sakshi Sawhney and Jalandhar CP Dhanpreet Kaur shared personal challenges and achievements over lunch to emphasise the importance of hard work and independent career choices.
  • District toppers including Madhavi Salaria, Amanpreet Kaur and Meharpreet Kaur participated in briefings on governance processes and law enforcement responsibilities.
  • The program forms part of the Punjab government’s broader effort to nurture meritorious students and encourage careers in public administration.
